The Rainbowed Pavilions are the only faerilven settlement of note in the Woodmarch. The Winding Halls lie some ways north, along the Glimmerflow, and the Towers of Frost lie to the east. Elves travelling to or from Larenyss and the rest of the Reachlands pass through Aithelighin, and thence to Shalanholt or Larenyss proper via hidden trails guarded by the elves and their allies.
The Rainbowed Pavilions are located in an open section of forest, where the great trees form vast, vaulted halls. The elves have set their tents throughout these halls, each festooned with banners and flags identifying the tents owners, occupants, guests, or nearly anything else they feel inclined to display. Humans are welcome here, as are gnomes and other civilized races, and are free to participate in any of the many tournaments and jousts that occur almost daily. The Rainbowed Pavilions are the stronghold of the faerilven cavalry and chief breeding ground for elven horses, and combat from horseback is one of the most tested skills here.
