Eides
(The Wanderer, Father of Fortune, King of the Wind)
Chaotic Neutral Greater Power of the Elder Host
Major AoC: Air, Luck, Curiosity
Minor AoC: Gamblers, Pilgrims
Symbol: A cloud, a gust of wind, three dice, an albatross
Allies: Tamati
Enemies: Ruandir, Umoth
Avatar: Bard 10 / Rogue 15 / Wizard 15
Eides appears as a small, slight man of unassuming appearance and worn clothing when he creates an avatar. He always has dice on his person, and never refuses a wager (though he does not always play fair). He carries a sling called Breisinpet, or Little Breeze, and a club called Fiertunkam, or Fortune’s Fist. He gives dice to those who please him; after he leaves these dice are usually transformed into diamonds, gold, or some other precious material.
Eides is the least understood and least seen member of the Elder Host after Te. Though he spends nearly all of his time wandering the Wyrld, he doesn’t particularly care where he goes or when he leaves, and so spends much of his time in the unending expanses of the elemental realms and other places out of sight of mortal worshippers. He is on very good terms with Tamati, for the two share a common bond in their mastery of the weather, though the Thundering Goddess’ tastes in weather are more violent than the Wanderer’s. He strongly dislikes Ruandir’s slow and stolid attitude, and takes any opportunity he can to frustrate the Stonelord.
Travellers, pilgrims, sailors, gamblers, astrologers, and anyone seeking good weather, or even just a change in the weather, all pay homage to Eides. His priests are energetic and quick, fickle, and often tricksters (traits that encourage them to move often).
