History:
Orbor as it currently exists is only three generations old. Queen Sian dauh'Erris slew her husband, murdered her sons, and seized the principality of Orbor for herself. She seduced the commanders of her husband's army, bribed the mercenaries, and set about conquering the lands around her. Ten years later, she was crowned a queen. Fifteen years later, she died on the battlefield, leaving martial law, resolute order, and a greatly expanded realm as her legacy.
Sian's daughter, Queen Bianta dauh'Sian, continued her mother's campaigns, but met with little success. Queen Sian had overrun everything she could, leaving no vulnerable targets to her heir. Bianta instead turned her attention inwards, beginning a ruthless campaign to eradicate any and all of the supporters of her father's line -- a traditional, patriarchal family. By the time of her death twenty-two years later, nearly three-quarters of the original lines of nobility from the Principality of Orbor had been exterminated or exiled (the more recent nobility, either absorbed or raised up during Queen Sian's expansion, had no strong ties to the old prince's line, and so largely escaped the purge).
